Go Red for Dyslexia is a campaign with a simple aim: to help raise awareness of dyslexia and literacy differences, and show the world exactly what people with dyslexia can do.
And this week we've loved seeing you all celebrate all of the amazing creativity at the heart of the global dyslexia community, as well as lighting the world up in red to raise awareness of dyslexia and literacy differences at an international scale.
So join us for a whistle-stop tour through some of our favourites… and remember, there's still time to Go Red with us - so pop over to www.goredfordyslexia.org to find out how you can get involved and help spread the word in the communities you care about.
Poetry By Tommy Dawkins MBE
| Tommy is a great advocate for those with dyslexia who became a bit of a national hero in the UK when his literacy journey was broadcast on Channel 4's The Write Offs. This week, he’s been supporting Go Red For Dyslexia by doing something that might have seemed almost unthinkable to him a few years ago – performing a poem he’s written! |
Exploring the Stars with Abbott's Way School
Abbott's Way School is a specialist day school for children with specific learning differences such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia in Somerset, UK - but they've headed up into the atmosphere for Go Red for Dyslexia! Creating colourful and flair-filled planets and solar systems, they've been taking our message of dyslexia awareness to the stars and beyond!
The Art of Pallav Chander
| Pallav is an artist from New Delhi who explores the dyslexic experience through the medium of his art - and he's created some amazing and detailed works in this month's hottest colour. His latest exhibition, The Organisation of Chaos in the Works of Pallav Chander is available online hosted by APRE ART House in Mumbai, and you can see even more of his incredible work at @a_painters_symphony on Instagram! |
Mythbusting Magic!
Sammie (@spectrumpatronum over on Instagram!) is a neurodiverse SEND teacher and business owner, and she's created some wonderful media for Go Red too! She's created a handy little dyslexia mythbusting vid where she takes on some of the most commonly held misconceptions about dyslexia, as well as created these adorable stickers! You can find out more about Sammie and grab some stickers at her website.
There are so many ways to get involved and help us spread awareness globally that anyone can #GoRedForDyslexia! You can learn more at https://www.goredfordyslexia.org/.
We greatly appreciate your support.
