This week, we're welcoming on board neurodiversity consultant Darren Clark!
SWD are a global positivity movement that focuses on raising awareness of dyslexia and literacy differences, who work tirelessly to raise the profile of dyslexic excellence and celebrate the amazing things that people with dyslexia can create and do. We're at the head of two major campaigns in the dyslexia community, Go Red for Dyslexia and D.E.A.R. for Dyslexia, and are dedicated to creating a positive narrative around the idea of dyslexia whilst supporting the needs of the growing global dyslexia community.
And as of last Friday, neurodiversity champion, influencer and business whiz Darren Clark will be joining the Succeed With Dyslexia movement as a vital part of our mission, to raise awareness, spread the word, and to take us forward into a new era.
Darren is a highly successful neurodiversity consultant who works with major blue chip companies such as HSBC and Netflix to provide strategic guidance and staff training to support the needs of their neurodivergent employees and consumers. Despite struggling in education due to undiagnosed dyslexia and ADHD, Darren’s entrepreneurial and leadership skills have seen him excel in the business world, working first for the UK supermarket giant Tesco in numerous management roles before founding the Spotless Group, a large digital outsourced facility services company, in 2012.
He then went on to create several global consultancy businesses that focus on neurodiversity with motivational speaking and training acumen at the heart of their roster, including KD Global Consultancy and Global Dyslexia Group. Since 2012, he is credited with creating over 500 jobs in the South West region, and in 2019 his contribution to the business community was honoured with the Male Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the South West Business and Community Awards in recognition of his ongoing entrepreneurial commitment. He is an ambassador for the British Dyslexia Association, a member of the Global Partners Committee of the International Dyslexia Association, a director of the Dyslexia Kenya Organisation, and is well-known as a business mentor for schools.
Darren is also the founder of Neurodiversity Stories, a popular weekly interview on LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube that brings together a global audience and a range of neurodiverse guests to educate and inspire his viewers.
Going forward, he'll be an integral part of Succeed With Dyslexia’s ongoing mission to raise awareness of dyslexia all over the world, bringing his passion for neurodiversity and invaluable expertise to the movement as it grows.
We can't wait to get started!
