Ofsted: Remote Education and SEND | Succeed With Dyslexia

After YouGov polling suggested that up to 59% of parents with a child with SEND were concerned that they were becoming disengaged with remote learning, Ofsted — the UK’s Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services, and Skills — has released a relevant video to their YouTube platform.

The video features Ofsted inspectors discussing some of the good practices that they’ve seen when it comes to remote education and SEND, and what’s working for children and young people.

Using data from their autumn and spring term interim visits, it centres on messages about what considerations are important, and what can be done to make the remote educational experience accessible and effective for students who learn and think differently.

You can watch the video at Ofsted’s YouTube channel here.

There’s also a SlideShare pack available for the data and findings that can be used by education providers and practitioners to reflect on the challenges facing SEND educators due to remote learning, and help plan further ways to engage remote learners across the board.
